3. Take a ceramics course
…was my entry in my 100 Dreams exercise. Prior to my first intensive, I had taken maybe 4 one-time classes, each time with a deformed piece trimmed within an inch of its life. Why? Because I wanted perfection, I wanted this to be something I could be proud of. But I found that I didn’t start getting better until I started letting go. Now, 1.5 courses later, I’m hooked. I like to say wheel throwing is the most stressful relaxation. It keeps me so focused on my piece that I do not even consider multi tasking, not even music which is a rarity for me.
Clay + glaze details in each entry.
